Hillside is an evidence-informed partnership model for youth at risk of dropping out.

For the past 27 years Hillside work Scholarship Connection has earned national recognition as a leading solution to the dropout crisis, delivering consistent measurable results for school districts and their students in the areas of high school graduation, college and career readiness and employment.

For the 2012-2013 school year more than 3,2000 students participated in the program. The results and community impact are compelling.

  • 96 % of Hillside work-scholarship Connection students employed with job partners graduated on time.
  • 589 students graduated on time in 2012-2013.
  • 58% of Hillside work scholarship Connection students entered college immediately following graduation, continuing on the path toward becoming independent, contributing members of our community, delivering consistent
  • 477 of Hillside Work-scholarship Connection youth successfully earned their Youth Employment Training Academy (YETA) certification througe HW-SC's Jobs Institute Program and were employed part time in year around positions, together earning approximately $2,050,000 in annual taxable wages to help support the local economy and their dreams for college.
